DAT is now includes Intermodal (IMDL) rates in RateView, available to all subscribers at no additional cost.
We’re excited to share that Intermodal (IMDL) rates are now available across all DAT iQ RateView delivery channels. This update gives you the ability to compare truckload (TL) and intermodal rates in a single platform, using the same trusted DAT data you rely on today.
What’s New?
Intermodal (IMDL) is now available as an equipment/mode type in iQ RateView. You can access IMDL rates through any of the following channels:
- iQ RateView Single-Lane UI — select “Intermodal” from the equipment type dropdown
- iQ RateView Multi-Lane (MLR) — include IMDL lanes in your batch files alongside TL
- RateLookupAPI — query IMDL as a distinct equipment/mode type
- Snowflake / DAS — IMDL data is available for direct integration into your analytics tools
What does an IMDL rate include?
Each IMDL rate result includes the same data transparency you expect from RateView:
- Average rate per mile (linehaul)
- Rate range (25th–75th percentile)
- Report count and contributor count
- Standard deviation per lane
Rates are calculated at the 3-digit zip code level. Note: Drayage-only rates are not included.
Is there an additional cost?
No. IMDL rates are included in all RateView subscription tiers: Basic, Pro, and Premium for Broker, Shipper, and Carrier segments. No add-on or additional purchase is required.
IMDL rate lookups via API and Multi-Lane RateView consume RateView credits, consistent with existing TL rate usage. Single-lane lookups in the iQ UI do not consume credits.
How do I get started?
In iQ RateView (Single-Lane):
- Log in to DAT iQ at iq.dat.com.
- Navigate to RateView.
- Select “Intermodal” from the equipment type dropdown.
- Enter your origin and destination and run your rate lookup.
In Multi-Lane RateView (MLR):
- Build or upload your lane file as usual.
- Set the equipment type to “Intermodal” for any IMDL lanes.
- Run your batch analysis.
Via API or Snowflake:
Use “Intermodal” as the equipment/mode type parameter. See the developer documentation for full details, or contact your account representative for integration support.
